TWRFC Academy is the beating heart of Tunbridge Wells RFC. With our work through all age groups each and every younger player aspires to be part of this unique set up as they develop through the club. For Academy players naturally the aim is to progress onto senior rugby. This can be quite daunting as an U17 or 18 but we work with all the players to ensure the step up is a smooth as possible with each and every player carefully prepared through experienced coaching, senior player mentors and individual player development plans to ensure that integration and transition is smooth, worry free and FUN for all involved.

We welcome all players from U16’s, 17’s and 18’s, of all abilities, and are resolutely non selective. We believe everyone who wants to play should play in a safe environment that encourages rugby’s core values and to achieve more as a collective unit, in turn enabling individuals to fulfil their true potential with their progression into senior rugby.

In the current Senior squad (2021/22 Season) we have 15 players who have come through our youth teams and made the transition from Colts/Academy rugby into the senior sides. This is a phenomenal record which we are determined to continue to grow through our existing Academy.

Thanks to our generous sponsors Ascender Consulting we are able to provide full resources more normally afforded to a professional side in both training and match day experience. Some of the benefits include;

As with all clubs we have been significantly impacted by Covid this year but intend to reinstate all of the above services as we return to business as normal heading into the 2021/22 season. In the meantime we will be playing touch during the summer and be running thorough preseason sessions mid week.
